El convertidor RS232-RS485 se ha diseñado para convertir las señales entre una interfaz RS232 y una interfaz RS485, Se utiliza a menudo para aplicaciones de CCTV, CONTROL DE ACCESO y en aplicaciones industriales. En modo 2 hilos 'Half –Duplex ' ( RS485 ) , el convertidor puede controlar el sentido de la transmisión en el bus por medio del flujo de datos. En este caso, el convertidor será el encargado de determinar automáticamente la inversión del bus en función del sentido de los datos que se transmiten. De este modo, se puede utilizar para conectar equipos en los que la gestión no se realiza mediante control de flujo. La velocidad máxima del caudal de datos es de 115,2Kbit/s.
