El cierre de empalme DFE101 se utiliza para facilitar las reparaciones de cables de fibra óptica. Los tamaños de fibra comunes de cables rectangulares de 8,1 mm, 5,4 mm y 5,1 mm y cables redondos de 3,0 mm y 5,1 mm se acomodan con las glándulas de sellado suministradas.
Admite un total de 12 empalmes por fusión y 2 empalmes mecánicos que se colocan de forma segura dentro del cierre con protección al ingreso IP68. El DFE101 se puede enterrar permanentemente o montarse en el lateral de un edificio.
Si no hay suficiente excedente de fibra en un corte para realizar la fusión, se pueden utilizar 2 cierres DFE100/DFE101 para realizar la reparación.
El DFE101 proporciona una ubicación de punto de empalme dentro de la construcción de la red, así como un punto de demarcación en las instalaciones.
